Fundamentalism at its worst

People like this scare the crap out of me. They've gone to a whole new level of fundamentalism.

"If the house or village gave a girl as a “treat”, the Druids put a pumpkin with a face carved in it in front of the door or gate of that place. Inside the pumpkin was a candle made of human tallow to keep evil spirits away. Thus, the Jack-O-Lantern was and is a sign that you have cooperated with Satan.

The treats or female victims were taken to Stonehenge where they were raped and killed and then sacrificed on the sacred bonefire until only glowing embers were left. The “bonefire” is the origin of the modern day bonfire. As a matter of luck for winter survival, all villagers were expected to use the glowing embers of the bonefire to light their hearths. "

To read the entire thing go Here

Most won't give us 30 seconds to talk to them in order to allay their fears, this guy has gone out and done enough research that he's figured out all the right buttons to push to get people riled up. Sound like anyone from history?

Gore Derangement Syndrome

By PAUL KRUGMAN
Published: October 15, 2007

Excerpt:
"artly it’s a reaction to what happened in 2000, when the American people chose Mr. Gore but his opponent somehow ended up in the White House. Both the personality cult the right tried to build around President Bush and the often hysterical denigration of Mr. Gore were, I believe, largely motivated by the desire to expunge the stain of illegitimacy from the Bush administration.

And now that Mr. Bush has proved himself utterly the wrong man for the job — to be, in fact, the best president Al Qaeda’s recruiters could have hoped for — the symptoms of Gore derangement syndrome have grown even more extreme.

The worst thing about Mr. Gore, from the conservative point of view, is that he keeps being right. In 1992, George H. W. Bush mocked him as the “ozone man,” but three years later the scientists who discovered the threat to the ozone layer won the Nobel Prize in Chemistry. In 2002 he warned that if we invaded Iraq, “the resulting chaos could easily pose a far greater danger to the United States than we presently face from Saddam.” And so it has proved."

My problem with Gore is his voice, it always puts me to sleep. But that aside, you have give him credit for making the environment an important dialog.

The road to hell is paved with good intentions

So goes the old saying.

It seems as if people are unconcerned that are basic rights are slowly being trampled on and sucked away. They don't see the forest for the trees. I find this trend more then just a little unsettling.

So let me be perfectly clear. In 1930's and 1940's Germany, Hitler passed a variety of laws aimed at "non-citizens", all of which were designed to give the German people a focus for their anger, frustration and resentment. So, when Hitler's true purpose, the genocide of the Jewish people, no one said a word.

If you don't think it is happening here, think again.

From todays NY Times: udges Say U.S. Can’t Hold Man as ‘Combatant’

"All three judges yesterday agreed that a new law, the Military Commissions Act, did not defeat the court’s jurisdiction. The law says the federal courts have no jurisdiction to hear challenges from any non citizen “who has been determined by the United States to have been properly detained as an enemy combatant.”........The appeals court yesterday ordered the trial judge in the case to issue a writ of habeas corpus directing the secretary of defense to release Mr. Marri from military custody “within a reasonable period of time to be set by the district court.” The government can, Judge Motz wrote, transfer Mr. Marri to civilian authorities to face criminal charges, initiate deportation proceedings against him, hold him as a material witness in connection with a grand jury proceeding or detain him for a limited time under a provision of the U.S.A. Patriot Act.

But the military cannot hold him, Judge Motz wrote. “The president cannot eliminate,” she wrote, “constitutional protections with the stroke of a pen by proclaiming a civilian, even a criminal civilian, an enemy combatant subject to indefinite military detention.”

Now, lets look at a few of Hitler's 25 points:
"4. Only a member of the race can be a citizen. A member of the race can only be one who is of German blood, without consideration of creed. Consequently no Jew can be a member of the race.

5. Whoever has no citizenship is to be able to live in Germany only as a guest, and must be under the authority of legislation for foreigners.

6. The right to determine matters concerning administration and law belongs only to the citizen. Therefore we demand that every public office, of any sort whatsoever, whether in the Reich, the county or municipality, be filled only by citizens. We combat the corrupting parliamentary economy, office-holding only according to party inclinations without consideration of character or abilities.

7. We demand that the state be charged first with providing the opportunity for a livelihood and way of life for the citizens. If it is impossible to sustain the total population of the State, then the members of foreign nations (non-citizens) are to be expelled from the Reich.

8. Any further immigration of non-citizens is to be prevented. We demand that all non-Germans, who have immigrated to Germany since the 2 August 1914, be forced immediately to leave the Reich."

That was only the beginning. At first his focus and that of his party was only on Jews, but soon it would expand.

Gerda Lerner:

"We can learn from history how past generations thought and acted, how they responded to the demands of their time and how they solved their problems. We can learn by analogy, not by example, for our circumstances will always be different than theirs were. The main thing history can teach us is that human actions have consequences and that certain choices, once made, cannot be undone. They foreclose the possibility of making other choices and thus they determine future events."

If we don't find a better way to deal with this, other then the gross violations of human rights, the destruction of our Constitution, then one day we too will be facing the consequences of our choices. For so long we've existed in a vacuum, with the mistaken belief that somehow we're better then the rest of the world. We're not, everything we do and do not do, as an impact on the world.

First They Came for the Jews

First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Pastor Martin Niemöller

Perhaps it is time to see that what Neimoller said so eloquently 60 odd years ago has just as much importance then as it does today.

First they came for the Muslims
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Muslims.
Then they came for the Activists
and I did not speak out
because I was not Activist.
Then they came for anyone not fitting their strict definition of American Christian
and I did not speak out
because I was not an fundamentalist American Christian.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.

Substitute any word you like, Democrat, Libertarian, Constitutionalist, Environmentalist, Feminist, Humanist, soon we'll be able to include so many other people, anyone who even looks like they're of Middle Eastern descent, anyone who is not Christian, anyone who is not a Patriot as defined by Bush and his cronies, anyone who is against war, anyone who speaks out.

If you think for one minute that you don't fall into one of these categories you wrong, because you do, and you will.

Our Constitution was written to DENY unchecked authority, to keep people safe from the abuse and misuse of power. This country was founded on the idea that NO ONE MAN HAD THE RIGHT OR THE POWER TO MAKE DECISIONS UNCHECKED.

It scares the hell out of me that George Bush believes that he is exempt from this tradition, this belief, this set of guiding principles that has kept our freedoms intact for over 200 years.

Hypocrisy and Intolerance

Several times over the last six to nine months I have been attacked because I have strong views on acceptable behavior.

Over the years I've noticed that my attitudes have changed. In the 80's I was active in animal rights and ending starvation groups. In the 90's my focus was on women's rights, children's rights and the environment. But I've come to realize that it is not about equality, but rather about equity. We live in a world in which the uneven distribution of power, resources, and freedom is inequitable.

The headlines of today's New York Times reads:

Dozens Slain as Lebanese Army Fights Islamists

So far 17 militants and 22 soldiers are dead. It is unknown how many innocents in the refugee camp are dead or injured because no one can get in there to verify the information.

The Islamic militants are using the refugee camp as a base and as a shield.
"What began as a raid on several homes in Tripoli in pursuit of suspected bank robbers connected to Fatah al-Islam quickly escalated into an open confrontation with the group at their stronghold in the camp."

Lebanese hate the Palestinians in the camps because they blame them for the civil war. The Palestinians have lived in these camps for years, they lost everything in the civil war. Mind this is not a simple problem. The last census cited that the country was predominately Christian, in 1932. But that really isn't the case. The Muslim's who live in Lebanon want another census, and a restructure of the government to reflect the changed population.

Isreal and the Christian government don't want that. Because they don't want another Muslim foothold in the Middle East. Of course, this is a very simplified view of a very complex political, social, cultural and religious problem.

My point to all of this, HATE is a horrible feeling. If we cannnot as humans find common ground with which to settle our differences then we all are in for more of what has occurred and is continuing to occur in Lebanon.

So many times I see pagans ranting about christians. Newsflash, one day, we could be the folk in the refugee camps.

We need to find better ways to settle our differences. We need to watch our own, and make sure that when they step over that line into inappropriate behavior, that we as a community do not sanction crappy behavior with the idiotic "well Wicca is whatever you want it to be so if it feels right to you then it is right" arguement.

No one in the pagan community wants to step up and create a set of standards for minimum acceptable behavior. Oh, they don't mind whining, ranting, and bitching about the "teh evul xtians" who abuse, rape, discriminate, fire, evict, etc etc etc. But push those same expectations on a pagan? No way, don't you know that is in violation of everything we believe in?

One of those most common refrain's I've heard is "Who are you to judge the actions of others?" or "You're just a bully trying to force your brand of pagan fundamentalism"

WOW, really? Let's look at what I actually have repeatedly stated as my expectations.

1. Do not teach minors without parental notification and permission.
2. Responsibility in teaching, the same kind of expectations as to training, education, and background one would expect of someone teaching your child, is the same expectations we should have for our teachers of the Craft.
3. Contradictions, Historical revision, and blatant hypocrisy. Self appointed leaders have these things pointed out to them dozens of times, with no change, no growth, no acceptance of personal responsiblity.

Then yes, I do believe that as a community that values spiritual enlightenment, and as a member of this community, I have the right, no, I have the duty and responsibility to point out and ask for public denial and censure of these kinds of people.

Every single religion has them. We are not unique. What we are unique in, is our complete disregard for ethics, truth, honesty, and a refusal to hold our leaders, both chosen and self-appointed to higher expectations.

At some point we will have no choice but to take a stand. My fear is that by the time the general pagan population is finally ready, we will have already lost to much ground and too many innocent people.

You've got to be kidding me

So from the First Amendment Center we have this article

Choice between their God and their Job?

"Muslim taxi drivers and Christian pharmacists have very different beliefs and work in very different professions. But now they share a painful dilemma: By following their consciences, they risk losing their jobs.
Religious accommodations are often difficult to make, but upholding religious freedom is worth the effort. If at all possible (it isn’t always), the government should avoid putting people to what Justice Potter Stewart called “a cruel choice” between their God and their job."

Choice between their God and their Job???

You're kidding me right?

Frankly, political correctness is seriously starting to get on my nerves. Phramacists are whining about how prescribing the morning after pill is the same as giving a rape victim an abortion, and is against thier religious beliefs.

Now, folks have been bending over backwards to accomodate them, but in reality, they want to force their religious beliefs down the throats of their unsuspecting customers. Because that is really what it means. And I cry bullsh*t.

A few Muslim cab drivers don't want people in their cabs carrying alcohol or dogs?

Well, at the airport about the only folk with dogs are going to be disabled, with service animals, so basically religious fundamentalism trumps basic human kindness.

Frankly, if their God is really that close minded, I am gratefull to not be a Christian or Muslim.

But back to the real debate: The First Amendment does not guarantee that you can discriminate against people at your job because of your personal religious beliefs, it does not say that you can refuse service, what it does say, is that the government shall not make any laws prohibiting the free and PERSONAL religious observations.

It will not prohibit the free assembly, it will not prohibit the free expersssion of the individual.

But see, there was once a great man who said: "Your rights end, where my nose begins."

If you don't want to hand out specific prescriptions, then stand up for your beliefs and get a new job. If you don't want a damn dog in your cab, well then, get a new job.

But you don't get to inflict your individual, personal, religious intolerance on the rest of the world, newsflash, you just aren't that special. And tying up our courts with your damn specialness is just disgusting.

Discrimination, what is and what isn't

Real case, handled by reasonable and rational folk:

Now here is an excellant article that shows how adults handle discrimination
link

"UW-Madison Settles Religious Discrimination Case

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has agreed to award 250-thousand-dollars in student fees, next year, to a Catholic student group to settle its religious discrimination lawsuit. Both the university and the UW Roman Catholic Foundation praised the agreement, which settles a federal lawsuit filed after the university refused to recognize the group, last year.

The UW agreed to award fees for the group's student activities, ranging from prayer gatherings to speeches, and classes in theology. But, the student group agreed to establish itself as a separate entity from St. Paul's Catholic Church and not seek funding for masses, weddings, funerals, or other events controlled by ordained clergy.

The Alliance Defense Fund, a Christian legal group that represented the foundation, says the agreement will help end religious discrimination on college campuses. University spokesman Casey Nagy says the settlement is beneficial to both sides and will give students the chance to join an organization that complies with requirements for school recognition and funding."

~Nice, the student group receives their funding, and agree to NOT practice behaviors and activities reserved for ordained clergy. It's a good compormise, and allows for other religious groups to form legitimately on the campus.~

Fake case, fake people, only out to get into the spotlight and make all of our lives harder
Now here is an article that highlights all that is wrong, and why we keep getting a bad rap:
link to article

A teen girl came to school with a pentagram on her cheek on May 2nd, supposedly as an observation of Beltane. I cry bullshit:

"Andy Pecenke, the teen's father, said that he and his wife, as well as his daughter are all Pagan. "I've been a member of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids for 13 years," Pecenke stated.

"If it was a part of her faith that everyone of her faith does this on May Day, then I would say our apologies to the child and the parent," he said. "But that isn't the case here."

In response to the entire ordeal, Pencenke stated that, "If I get an apology from the school, I'll be happy. It is discrimination and a violation of civil rights. If harassment continues, then I might have to take legal action. I would prefer to not go that route."

Unfortunately, Miss Pecenke was sent home yet again today for displaying numerous pentagrams on her face. Something tells me this is far from over, so we'll have to wait and see how this plays out in the future."

~I can't blame the journalist for their sarcasm, because this is not a case of religious discrimination. First of all, our rites are personal, between us and deity. The school has a valid point, there is NO supporting history or evidence that a 1-2 inch pentacle on her cheek is an expression of her religious faith. Oh Gods, and now they are going to use it as an excuse to SUE???

Yeah, there you have it, they think they'll get some money out of it and get to look all holy and righteous at the same time.

Bigots on Parade
Bing's Blog

"Christian groups are up in arms regarding the inclusion of homosexuals under the federal hate crimes legislation that recently passed in the House. They fear that if homosexuals are protected from hate crimes that they will no longer be able to express their religious views. To protect homosexuals is to deny the church the opportunity to discriminate against them, hold them in contempt or condemn them to hell.

The James Dobson's and the "God hates Faggots" crowd contend that to deny them their bigotry is infringing on their right to religious freedom. I feel for them, I do. Because hate is such a hard thing to shake and an easy thing to justify. I could go on and on about the hypocrisy of homophobia and the teachings of Jesus, but that's a moot point. It's so obvious it doesn't need to be brought up. I'm not anti-Christian or anti-religious but I am anti discrimination and anti bigot. "

WOW,the level of hate and ugliness that humans can lower themselves to never ceases to amaze and grieve me. Compared to the little teeny bopper who can color pentacles all over her face, kind of puts it all into perspective, doesn't it?

The Burning Times

So in another incarnation I came across an idjit that used the two articles below as "evidence" that the Burning Times are still happening.

Truly, I did try to ignore it for a few days, but, I'm sorry, I can't resist.

Couple burned alive for "black magic"
Yahoo article

"HYDERABAD, India (Reuters) - An elderly Indian husband and wife were burnt to death after villagers accused them of practicing black magic, tied them together on a pyre and set them on fire, police said Thursday.......Last year, a barber in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh killed his four-year-old son by slitting his throat with a razor after the man started seeing visions of the Hindu goddess Kali demanding a sacrifice."

~First of all, what they perceive as "black magic" in India has NO relation to the heresies practiced during the Inquisition, but we'll get to that. This is the point where I get to remind all those obtuse dim wits that Kali is NOT a sparkly loving Mama Goddess. Not to mention, he killed his own son, how in the heck is that evidence?~

White witch 'sacked for days off'
BBC article

"She had 21.5 days off during her six-month probationary period."

~uumm, what? and this is evidence how?

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there was some misunderstanding going on here, but the reality is simple, she agreed to do a job, and she didn't do it. This is one of those cases that make me clench my jaw. As a teacher your first duty is to your students, and in this case there is enough evidence to prove that this woman, a teachers ASSISTENT, was lacking in confidence to begin with. She asked how much she should disclose, and she was told to not do it. And frankly, I don't want any teacher disclosing their religious beliefs in the classroom, it has no place there. Now, if she wants to get a job at a Wiccan school, that is different. But what the heck did she expect, she's in the religious studies dept????~

I want to know, did the guy who posted this every bother to really do an iota of research on the Burning Times?? Heck, even Starhawk has backpedaled in light of new scholarship and research.

Earth Day 2007

Lately there have been different blogs and posting groups who have debated the tragedy at VT. Imagine my shock when a fellow pagan asked if the rest of the pagans in a specific group felt that it was okay for Legal Immigrants, with Legal Green cards, (Permenent Residents) to have the ability to buy guns.

It's interesting when you really stop to think it through. Over 200 years ago, we were the immigrants. The founding fathers and mothers of this country came here for a variety of reasons. When England taxed us unreasonable, when England passed laws about who could own what, say what, practice what religion, we rebelled. We were NOT citizens of this country, we'd come here looking for a new start, a new beginning, Freedom.

We won that war.

Then, we turned around and passed laws telling the Native Americans, the indigenous peoples of this land, what they could believe, what language they could speak, what they could and could not say, how they could live, what they could eat, where they were to die, how their children would be educated, oh yeah, and passed laws saying they could not own guns. They had no recourse to our laws, we made sure of that, and just to be completely sure that we would win, we then made it impossbile for them to have the tools necessary to fight back, to rebel,to have a revolution to protect their culture, their children, their religions, all the reasons we fought the Revolutionary War and all the reasons we wrote the Constitution of the United States.

Don't get me wrong, I firmly believe that there should have been better safeguards in place to make sure that this mentally ill young man could not legally obtain a gun. I also realize that if he'd been totally intent on his plan, he would have just bought one illegally.

I'm tired of people reacting in fear, and I'm tired of the government using that as a means to STEAL OUR FREEDOMS AND RIGHTS.

So, today is Earth day. This is supposed to be a day in which we all think about how we treat this planet we live on. I'd like to suggest we take it a step further.

How are we responsible to everyone, every person, every animal, every plant, within our communities?

Oh Great Spirit of our
Ancestors, I raise
my pipe to you.
To your messengers the four winds, and
to Mother Earth who provides
for your children.
Give us the wisdom to teach our children
to love, to respect, and to be kind
to each other so that they may grow
with peace of mind
Let us learn to share all good things that
you provide for us on this Earth.

Isn't it time we tried to walk in Beauty, in Harmony, and in Balance?

Global Astrology week of April 23rd

I freely admit having to struggle with understanding what they mean by all this. Some of it is immediatly clear, and some of it not so much. This is one of those areas in which I"m trying to increase my knowledge, so, in the upcoming months, you can expect to see more there.

From Aquarius Papers - Global Astrology website:

Sun in Taurus - Earth is on the Return

by Robert Wilkinson

Finally! The drought of no planets in Earth signs just ended this morning when the Sun returned to Taurus. Except for a few days over the next few months, we're finally past the long period we've been in where planets were very infrequently in Earth signs. Earth will be more of a constant factor between now and 2025, except for a few days in the near future.

I discussed some of this in Astrology Imbalances in March 2007 - There Are No Planets in Earth Signs Right Now where there's another link to why this is important, and how it affects all of us. It has to do with the proportion of Elements at any given moment, which is the atmosphere of how Spirit, Mind, Feelings, and Matter are interrelated, affecting the collective consciousness as well as the collective unconscious.

Since Taurus is the sign symbolizing how we can enjoy our time here to a greater degree, it's a month to allow the light of this gentle, stable, and peaceful sign to permeate our being and show us the way to authentic, enjoyable self expression, "gentling down" into a calm stability the recent agitations of Aries. I'll post the coming week's trends soon.

Government must deal with greenhouse gases: US Supreme Court

I know I've been away for awhile, I volunteered to admin one forum, moderate another, on top of my class load. So, please forgive the absence.

With Spring upon us, I found this article, and it just makes me want to dance.

excerpt, to read full article, follow the link:

"The US Supreme Court ruled Monday that the Environmental Protection Agency must consider greenhouse gases as pollutants, in a blow to the White House.

"Because greenhouse gases fit well within the Clean Air Act's capacious definition of 'air pollutant' we hold that EPA has the statutory authority to regulate the emission of such gases from new motor vehicles," the court ruled.

Led by Massachusetts, a dozen states along with several US cities and environmental groups went to the courts to determine whether the agency had the authority to regulate greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide emissions.

"The harms associated with climate change are serious and well recognized," said judge John Paul Stevens as the ruling was carried by five votes in favor to four against.

The Republican administration of US President George W. Bush has fiercely opposed any imposition of binding greenhouse limits on the nation's industry.

Environmentalists have alleged that since Bush came to office in 2001 his administration has ignored and tried to hide looming evidence of global warming and the key role of human activity in climate change."

Don't Freak

But this entry is going to be a tad different.

As Spring approaches I thought I would share some interesting links. As Pagans, so often we are automatically labelled as "dirt loving tree huggers" LOL, though for many of us that isn't quite accurate, just as not all Pagans are Green Party or Libertarian.

On another list we were discussing the costs of organic farming. Now, while the scientific debate over how fast we are losing top soil due to pesticide and fertilizer is raging, and with little consenus, there are ways that organic food can be affordable.

The number one key to buying organic, is to make sure you are supporting local organic farmers and ranches. Because then there is little transportation costs. I'm not saying you can't have the more expensive produce, just remmeber, that you are paying more becuase it had to be shipped X number of miles, not JUST because it is organic.

So, every summer, there is a local organic farm, and for 15 dollars my partner rides around on the 'hay ride'. The 'hay ride' takes a little over 2 hours, because it stops for 10-15 minutes at every field, and at every field he gets two bags to fill with whatever produce is grown in that field. There is usually anywhere from 10-15 different fields. He comes home with bags of corn, squash, tomatoes, lettuce, greens, different fruits and veggies, all, for 15 bucks.

Yeah, organic farmins is SOOOOOOO expensive, not.

There are other ways to do this, one local Farmers Market, offers the chance to pre-purchase a weekly basket (35-45 bucks a basket) overflowing with fruits and veggies. (size would be one of those 1/2 bushel basket, you don't get to keep the basket, but you do bring it home, then return it for exchange on your next basket).

Of course, there is always the Markets, they are a little pricier, and you do need to shop around to find the good ones.

Or, find a local CSA Farm, CSA's, community supported agriculture. They offer "plans" which differ, one of our farms offers a "share" in the farm, for a family of 4, it is 600 a year, and you get a basket a week from March through October. This particular farm also offers the choice, you can pay less, if you agree to come out and work 8 hours a week durning harvesting season. (and yes, they have jobs for those of us who can't be too physical). They offer 1/2 shares for smaller families as well.

So, here are several links to get everyone going, eat healthy and save money.

Arrogance

So, over at Sapphoq's radical blog, she's ranting and raving.

Apparently she was under the impression that she and ERF could run willy nilly all over the Net, post folks contact info, names, etc, and no one would say a word. **snicker**

Then she "claims" to have said nothing to no one, but that isn't quite true, is it Spike Q? Did you really honestly believe that your different socks would go unnoticed or untraced? You're not that good.

I'm guessing, that because she hasn't emailed under Sapphoq/Spike Q that we're supposed to leave her blogging site alone. Wrong again!

Also, it seems she has missed the fact that no one is following them around. Oh don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean folk don't pay attention at the numerous little teen yahoo groups they are joining, and trying to recruit folk into their witch war, we just have chosen to not participate in it any longer. After all, they've both shown that converstaion with either one of them is futile, they're only interest is in riling folk up, and creating their own brand of pagan fundamentalism.

Oh, and unlike ERF and Spike, my comments are NOT moderated. Unlike the two of you I'm not afraid of anything you have to say.

Proof that ERF and Merlin are the same

It never fails to amuse me, give them enough time, and they will hang themselves.

ERF is Merlin, as posted by himself in a new Yahoo teen group he's joined, err, trolling. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/teenbookofshadows/message/5630

"This is a warning to all Pagans, and Withes a like. When faced with
these people, do not back down. Remain strong in your faith. Do not
let them bring fear into your heart. Hold onto the God, and Goddess.
If you need help with these people please email me at:
merlyn@...
Me, along with other Witches are banning together to stop these
people. We are not alone anymore."

What a dumbass, but whatever. He obviously is bored, no one wants to debate with him anymore, because he has proven again and again that he has no desire to change and grow.

But, I must be honest here, I truly feel fear and trepidation for the teens whom he may come in contact with.

Why I keep getting called names

Apparently my snarking has caused a counter movement. Now, I personally find this vastly amusing, that anyone would create a counter movement because of my snarking is absolutely hilarious, and quite silly.

so, I'll say it again, because they seem to have missed it the first dozen or so times:

My beef with ERF is simple, he still insists that he has the right to teach teens. That teens should keep secrets from their parents, and if their parents do not approve of paganism, then they should LIE to them.

I'm a Mom first and a Witch second, and I am here to tell you, as a Mom,

FUCK YOU and the horse you rode in one.

Actually as a Witch with ethics, I'd still have the same thing to say to you.

No one has the right to teach my children jack diddly squat behind my back.

No one has the right to tell my children it is okay to keep secrets from me.

No one has the right to tell my children it is okay to lie to me.

And that goes for anyone else's children as well.

Now, if anyone happens to be interested in an excellent article on Religious Instruction and Teens, go here: http://ravanoid.blogspot.com/2007/02/religious-instruction-and-teens.html

But, if what you really want is to keep teaching your brand of bullshit, without parental permission, then as a Mother and as a Priestess to the Mother Goddess, I'm here to get in your face, every day, every way. Get used to it. Because I will not quit until you change your behavior.

Got it? Good!

12stepBunny Recovery

Amazing, and it gives me hope for the future of pagan communities.

That's right it's a recovery group just for YOU!

Join now, and learn how to recover from SRW.

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/12stepBunny/

WE STARTED THIS GROUP BECAUSE THERE ARE TOO MANY FLUFF BUNNIES OUT THERE TODAY, COME HERE GET HELP AND LEARN THE TRUTH!

The 12 steps to Fluffy bunny recovery

1. We admitted that we are powerless over our fluffieness. That our lives have become annoying to ourselves and others

2. We came to belive in a power greater than ourselves that could save us from Fluffieness ( and it is not Silver Ravenwolf )
3. We made a decision to turn our lives over to the care of the GOD and the GODDESS as we undertand them, even if we are not to sure who this god guy is ( was he in any of the books)

4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves, and our bookshelves

5. We admitted to the God and the Goddess, to ourselves, and to another human being that we are fluffy and we annoy people

6. We are entirely ready to have the God and the Goddess remove these defects of character.

7.We humbly asked them to remove these short comings, and most of our books.

8. We made a list of all the persons we annoyed by telling them they were wrong and became willing to listen to there points of view.

9. We made direct amends to such people whenever possible, except when to do so would annoy them or others.

10. We continued to listen to other peoples facts and opinons, and when they were right promptly admitted it.

11. We sought through prayer and meditation to actually participate in a religion. Even if it did not have cool jewelry, or piss off our family. We did so even when it was much easier to say we were witches without being witches

12.Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we will try to carry this message to other Fluffy Bunnies, and practice these principles in all our affairs.

**snort** Yeah right, ERF and Sapphoq

So, over at the bunnytrail, http://thebunnytrail.net/?page_id=13 , ERF and Sapphoq have created two new trolls, MerlyntheGreat and ifindpeace, like they're stupid and cannot do an ip trace, or figure out from your idiotic language and writing style, see spelling errors below.

Well it ain't rocket science. You two start blogs like most people change their underwear, oh wait, that would be the freaking understatement of the year, no one changes their underwear THAT often.

Starting a blog to defend yourself, under a sockpuppet, and expecting people to actually believe you is just sheer idiocy.

http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=ifindpeace&btnG=Search+Blogs

Their new moronic blog:

http://defendingtheones.blogspot.com/

A few words to the wise, it's "sole" not "soul" and "know" not "now". There's more, but thought this would show that you two haven't learned jack shit. You're both still idiots, and still snark worthy.

If it wasn't so infantile, it would almost be funny, as it stands, they're just pathetic.

Edit: **snicker** it just occurred to me, shades of The Matrix, so are we to infer that ERF is "The One" hehehehe

Oh My Gods.... I am a OPPRESSOR!

Sorry, but you know me, just cannot help the little snarky tib bits at times.

So, apparently Frog Hippy, aka Sapphoq, aka Spike, aka Spike Q Witch, aka Blue Space Goddess, aka HOP, aka Resistent Witches, aka......(I'm sure there are more but really that isn't what this post is about), has decided to police the police, oh wait, I meant, oppress the oppressors!!!!!!

Oh please, can you get over youself already?!?!?!

While I freely admit, AGAIN for those that missed it before, there are folk who occasionally go way over the line into trollish and bullying behavior, this girl and her buddy ERF, have decided they are going to be the saviors of pagan community.

Hey ya'll, sound familar?

The "Perils" of Blogging

Excellant new e-zine. I would heartily encourage all to support them.

http://www.rendingtheveil.com/

They've started a great new "corner" Veiled Issues Debate Corner, this issue is a debate

The two articles are "In Defense of Bunny Hunting" and the opposition "Perils of, and Alternatives to, Bunny Hunting"

Mind, I already got a little pissy, because apparently I'm not allowed to have a personal blog in which I write my personal (ok, sarcastic, snarky and often bitchy) comments about things/people/situations I run across on the Net.

But then I thought I'd been pretty clear and upfront about how I felt. If someone wants to publicly blog something that I find personally repungant, repulsive, idiotic, hilarious, absolutely moronic, well then I am going to say something. No one said you must read my commentary. No one said you must agree with me. Oh well, to each his or her own.

In the mean time, please do go read both articles. They are both fairly well written, and offer opposing views in a decent manner.

ERFundamentalism

So I'm surfin the 'net, and what do I find, but a wonderfully satirical essay on Fundamentalism.

Yes, it was too good to pass up, and edit just a tad.

* ... you think a belief based on anything other than Silver Raving Fluff is an arbitrary whim.

* ... you sincerely believe that is best for them because supposedly Silver's revelations have deadened your perception of observational moral realities.

* ... most of what you think you know about the world outside your tradition, was found in books you bought from a capitalist publisher, because they treat your choice of dogma with favoritism.

* ... you think you know what Wicca teaches from reading Wicca for Dummies, because they obviously are so much smarter then Gardner.

* ... you think you understand Wiccan history just because you watch the Discovery Channel.

* ... you think you understand 20th century paganism by reading Paganism for Dummies.

* ... you think you know about all the contradictions in the bible by reading Silver Raven Fluff.

* ... since you accept pre-suppositions as if it were natural to all human beings, you assume that everybody else is thinking inside a box too, just the wrong box.

* ... since you only associate with people who substitute childlike suggestibility for critical thought, you think everybody else is suggestible to outside influences too, they just have the wrong influences.

* ... you think everybody really knows that your central tenets are right, and are just refusing to admit it because of arrogance and old age.

* ... you think this list should be about your doctrinal statement, and are surprised that it is about the mental methods by which you arrived at your conclusions.

Interesting

Interesting, over at the Druid's Blog, Daven has sited an interesting site. First I've heard of it, but it is nice to see that other's are concerned for the contradictory practices of certian folk online.

I'll admit it, a little outside validation can be a good thing.

Trolls

Another wonderfully informative website I've had bookmarked for quite some time. I'm not able to put it all here, but have put a few excerpts, please, please take the time to go peruse this site in its entirety. While I have not yet had the time to read through all of his pages, he has gone out of his way to provide quite a bit of information. I would add, that the author clearly states that profit his not his motive, hence his website. Please however show respect due him for his energy, dedication and hard work and be sure to make sure Eran gets all the credit for this amazing website.

Now, onto Trolls

http://esoterica.bichaunt.org/Trolls/index.html

From Chapter Four: Describing Trolls:

"

But in fact, for whatever reason – childhood abuse issues, societal failings, substance addictions, inherited predispositions, or simple, downright orneriness – there are a collection of personality traits which lead some people to fall into destructive patterns.

Very often the person involved is unaware of these traits within him- or herself. The destructive tendencies are frequently unconscious. As far as the person may be aware, only the best of motives are involved, and no harm is ever intended. Yet harm and devastation still seem to follow everywhere in the person's wake.

Does a tornado "intend" to destroy people's lives? Did rats in Medieval times "intend" to be hosts for plague-carrying fleas? Probably not – at least, not in the sense we normally mean the word intend. Troublemakers are often no more self-aware than are tornadoes or rats, and often have no fuller an understanding of why they are so frequently surrounded by pain and misery. But whether they "intend" destruction or not, it still happens."

Now from Chapter Five: Trollish Attributes:

"
One or two bad days, every now and then, does not a troll make. Nor does the absence of several troll-traits necessarily mean the person is really just a hamster (or even a wise and productive Covener!) What you’re looking for in a person is a pattern. If someone reveals several of these traits, and shows them consistently – or if the person shows only three or four, but shows them to excess – then you’re dealing with a troll."

A few Trollish traits:

"

  • Echoes and Re-runs. Has this person frequently been involved in arguments and destructive conflicts? Are problems frequent, and always someone else’s fault?

  • Blindness. Does the person seem to have an inability or unwillingness to consider other viewpoints? Does he or she have to win every argument?
  • Unnamed “Others”. Are “others” always to blame for this person’s problems? Do “others” always agree with this person’s concern? Does the person carry tales told to him or her by “others”? Is this person always vague about just exactly who these “others” are?
  • Gotcha. Does the person seem to find joy in pointing out other people’s errors or slips, mistakes and goofs, faults and bad habits? Does the person seem to imply these mean he or she is smarter or better suited to be a leader than is the one who goofed? Does the person sometimes ask questions he or she already knows the answers to, just to see if you know?
  • Liar. Is the person often caught in outright lies? Are there excuses and slick explanations always at the ready? Excuses can get pretty imaginative. One notorious liar repeatedly claimed to have misunderstood the conversations in question, and invented the condition of “aural dyslexia” to “explain” those very frequent false statements.
  • Aggression. Does the person use various forms of intimidation, or passive-aggressive techniques, to get what he or she wants?
  • Sore Losers / Bad Winners. In arguments or disagreements – or in games and leisure activities – does the person react well to resolutions? What kind of impression does the person give about past conflicts? Is there excessive gloating when the person wins, or harping and whining he or she loses? Are personal disagreements often depicted in terms of winning and losing, rather than as attempts to resolve differences? Does a loss provoke retaliation?
Use some common sense in applying this checklist, because no one’s perfect, and everyone has bad days. But don’t make excuses either. If someone shows several of these features, and shows them consistently, you have a troll on your hands."

Pagan Bullies and Narcissistic Vampires

I forgot I had the link. I actually really support everything this woman has done. I also can understand who in some cases bullies are born. But first I need to talk about what brought all of this on. ERF, on his latest website, had a shoutbox. Someone thought it would be funny to post some really nasty, racist, ugly comments and use ERF's name. Now this person is not in the group dotbunnyhunt that has ERF so angry and paranoid. Not that it matters, ERF believes they are. Apparently the person has stepped forward and claimed responsibility for what they did. I can only hope that ERF believes their apology, and understand that dotbunnyhunt, while serious about watching him for copyright infringement, and teaching teens without parental consent, would not do something like this.

So from me personally to ERF, I apologise, if there was a way I could have stopped this person I would have. While I still believe you go way over the line, I do not believe you are an Elder, nor do you have the right to call yourself one, this person was wrong. I am truly sorry you had to be subjected to this. I would ask however, that you remember using Bonwits name to spam Daven's website. How do you think Bonwits felt that you had done so? There is a lesson in this for all of us. Yes, I do include myself in that statement.

From: http://www.geocities.com/pagan_bullies/who_they_are.htm

A bully is a person who:

  • refuses to acknowledge or accept responsibility for their behaviour and its consequences
  • is primarily concerned with their own pleasure
  • wants power over others, and is willing to use and abuse other people to get what they want.
  • is consistent with whatever type of abuse they specialize in - it occurs every time you see them, and not just when they are in a bad mood
  • is unwilling to recognize that there could be better ways of behaving. Bullying is obsessive and compulsive; they have to have someone to bully and appear to be unable to survive without a current target.

Now, this is interesting because of late several folk I know, including myself have been branded as bullies. So, I needed to go look for myself, am I really a bully?

Based on what I've found, no, I don't believe I qualify, though I can see how one might think so. I can see though that some of the tactics used in the quest to get ERF to accept responisiblity for his words, deeds and behavior are bullying. That disturbs me, and I need to reflect more on that.

Part of the reason I removed myself to this blog is because I felt that the people I was watching and commenting on were actually trolls. (more on trolls in a later blog). But after more research I'm finding that while the one person I've been watching and commenting on the most, ERF, may very well be a troll, he also has serious mental health issues. Namely, Narcissistic Personality disorder.

An interesting article on Narcissistic Personality Disorder:

http://www.halcyon.com/jmashmun/npd/traits.html

"The most telling thing that narcissists do is contradict themselves. They will do this virtually in the same sentence, without even stopping to take a breath. It can be trivial (e.g., about what they want for lunch) or it can be serious (e.g., about whether or not they love you). When you ask them which one they mean, they'll deny ever saying the first one, though it may literally have been only seconds since they said it -- really, how could you think they'd ever have said that? You need to have your head examined! They will contradict FACTS. They will lie to you about things that you did together. They will misquote you to yourself. If you disagree with them, they'll say you're lying, making stuff up, or are crazy." (sound like anyone we know?)

OH MY GODS....I CANNOT STOP LAUGHING

Gods I wish I had a rolling on the floor laughing hysterically emoticon.

http://theravensway.blogspot.com/2007/01/what-is-elder.html

This is how my fanily Tradition sees an Elder.

An Elder who knows not how to use spell check.

One: You have to be 20, or older.

Well considering you've just turned 22, one would guess that 22 would be considered Elder....

But to be honest, I laughed till my stomach hurt when I read this.

Two: You must have the respect of the family Coven. (The family-not online)

But of course the family, considering the family consists of you and your wife. We all know your cousin has no respect for you, she said so, online. Oh, that must be why you said not online, because no one online respects you.

Three: You must know the Family Trad enough to teach it.

So now you're a Witch, Druid, Elder, High Priest, AND Family Trad? How can you be FamTrad, when you and your wife posted about how your families refused to accept that you had chosen to be pagan? Or is this just another revisionist history?

Four: We see an Elder, and High Priest, and High Priestess as roles you choose to become. They are not titles to be given. The Lord, and Lady gives you these titles. If they are your calling, you will know.

Well of course you do. Because every single member of the community, including your own family members, have all stated that you are not an Elder. In fact, didn't your cousin tell you to grow up?

Five: We respect other Trads, and their view of Elders, and HP, and HPS, and respect their ways, and ask they respect ours.

Bullshit! That is what this. Another ERF lie, do you really think anyone believes you?

Again ERF posts his own personal brand of bullshit, and expects the world to just sit idly by, silent. Sorry but I refuse to be silent in the face of such arrogance and ego.

Silent Treatement

Remember when you were a kid and the other kids gave you the silent treatement? Remember how much it truly sucked beyond belief?

There are religious communites that have a practice called Shunning, it happens when a member of their community violates trust and ethics of that community.

Shunning is adults version of the silent treatement.

So, my vote is we all shun/avoid/disassociate ourselves from ERF and LIA.

Because, as a friend of mine puts it: "At the zoo, there's a sign that says:
Don't Feed the Bears."

That folks is exactly what we've been doing, feeding the bear. It's time to stop.

I'm not advocating that we don't watch him, afterall as you all know I firmly believe at some point he will step over the line and harm someone. For that matter, I believe he may have already, we just can't prove it.

But until that point, let's stop feeding him.

Elder RavenFire's Thoughts: Pagan hypocrites, there everywhere!

Elder RavenFire's Thoughts: Pagan hypocrites, there everywhere!

I notice he doesn't mention calling Morgan names, telling her to go to hell, calling her all sorts of uncomplimentary things, lying about her, lying about the old forum. Neither does he mention how many times both he and LIA have been banned off of forums for hateful posts, like Tranquil Earth, E-Cauldron, (actually e-cauldron is a a record, from joining to banning, one hour and one minute).

Neither does he mention the dozens of hateful and nasty emails he has sent to people personally. The lies he posted to both his e-coven, and his new forum. Deleting posts on the e-coven then lying about it, and getting his wife to lie about it.

But no, he isn't nasty. Really? I suggest you go read his blog. His so sweet and loving and kind posts about older pagans, Christians, Bush....

Spare me, pot calling kettle.

Letting Go

A long time ago, someone I considered very wise told me something.

The only difference between a rut and a grave;

Is the dimensions.

This is important and I was reminded of it earlier. You see, as much as ERF bothers me, as much concern over the damage he may or may not cause I have, at the end of the day, there really isn't much I can do about it.

He's in a rut, and he's doing the same things day in and day out, expecting different results. (In my neck of the woods we call that crazy, but what the heck). He keeps walking back and forth in the same rut, eventually he'll dig his own grave.

And you know what? I find that very sad.

Morgan's Lake

Morgan is a friend. LIA and ERF and Morgan created Morgan's Lake.

This forum was supposedly created for Morgan. It was given her name, it was named after her lake.

Now, when she tries to exert control, and take it back and make it what she orginally wanted, LIA has come in when everyone is gone, and taken Morgan off of admin status. LIA has shut the board down.

Too bad, obviously LIA doesn't really want a free and open forum, obviously her promise that this was Morgans Lake, Morgans refuge, Morgans forum, was a lie.

But, now it's gone.

http://z11.invisionfree.com/Morgans_Lake/index.php?act=idx

Edit

This is from Morgan. LIA has removed her posting privilages. She has removed her from admin status.

"I just want her to know that this is the wrong road and that we were turning this into something good. As it stands everyone is behind me and she only will lose by this action. LIA I see you have chosen to ban me from my own board and shut it down yet again. You cannot continue to run and hide in situations such as these. I'm sorry to say this but popular opinion is with me on this and I have spent many hours trying to rescue this board from the disaster it had become. This board was destined to be shut down sooner or later due to the copyright infringements and the many outbursts by Elder. Please reconsider your actions and lets make this something special. "

Edit:

Per ERF the board was hacked. Which is a LIE!

Morgan had Admin status and as such had the right to go in and redesign it. Which she did.

ERF 'claims' his posts were deleted, a LIE. A few were accidentally deleted when sub forums were moved in the streamlining, however, 99% of his posts were simply moved into a new category.

Per Morgan, she wanted a place where she could lead discussions, she did not ask for the Lake, it was made and given to her.

All that is necessary for Evil to triumph

All that is necessary for Evil to triumph is for Good men to do nothing.
-- Edmund Burke

A friend and were discussing whether or not we were bullies because of our mockery of Elder Ravenfire...or as I like to call him, Raving Wackjob.

So, from his latest blog, an excerpt:

"We say that teens, and the younger generation is to blame for the Craft being gothic. And we say, "Oh look, anther satanic teen!" But we never look at why they are like that. It's because of the "older" Witches who will not, do I dare use this word, teach!!!!! the Craft to the teens who want to learn it. And these "older, and wiser" Witches, get these teens to believe they can't learn the Craft until their 18. NO! Teens can learn the Craft too!"

WTF? I mean really lets be serious, like for one moment any pagan would call a teen in goth attire a Satanist. Add to the equation the overwhelming obsession with wearing black by most pagans anyway, and this arguement becomes even more ridiculous.

On top of all of this, he still hasn't answered the primary concern voiced by so many;

Where in the nine hells does he get off teaching teens without parental notification and consent? Where in the nine hells does he get off telling teens it is okay to keep it a secret and lie to their parents?

And because I and other's like me refuse to sit back and allow him to do this, we're the bullies?

Okay, I'll be a pagan bully.

Thank you Have a Nice day.

Funnies from a friend

One day my housework-challenged husband decided to
wash his Sweat-
shirt. Seconds after he stepped into the laundry room,
he shouted to me, "What setting do I use on the
washing machine?"

"It depends," I replied. "What does it say on your
shirt?"
He yelled back, " University of Oklahoma ."

And they say blondes are dumb...
-----------------------------------------------------------

A couple is lying in bed. The man says,
"I am going to make you the happiest woman in the
world."
The woman replies, "I'll miss you..."
-----------------------------------------------------------

"It's just too hot to wear clothes today," Jack says
as he stepped out of the shower, "honey, what do you
think the neighbors would think if I mowed the lawn
like this?"
"P rob ably that I married you for your money," she
replied.
-----------------------------------------------------------

He said - Shall we try swapping positions tonight?
She said - That's a good idea... you stand by the
ironing board while I sit on the sofa and fart.
-----------------------------------------------------------

Q: What do you call an intelligent, good looking,
sensitive man?
A: A rumor
-----------------------------------------------------------

A man and his wife, now in their 60's, were
celebrating their 40th wedding anniversary. On their
special day a good fairy came to them and said that
because they had been so good that each one of them
could have one wish.
The wife wished for a trip around the world with her
husband.

Whoosh! Immediately she had airline/cruise tickets in
her hands.
The man wished for a female companion 30 years
younger...
Whoosh...immediately he turned ninety!!!
Gotta love that fairy!
-----------------------------------------------------------

Dear Lord,
I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to
forgive him; And Patience for his moods. Because,
Lord, if I pray for Strength, I'll beat him to death.
AMEN

Elder RavenFire's Thoughts: Why Witchcraft will never be a mainstream religion.

Elder RavenFire's Thoughts: Why Witchcraft will never be a mainstream religion.

"I think more Witches need to take a step back, and think about how their actions effect the whole outlook of the Craft."

You have got to be kidding me! Coming from the guy who had a screaming hissy fit when someone told him his info was bad, and the websites he was using were bad, his hypothesis is bad.

Every time anyone questions him he has a meltdown, then turns around and starts yelling, putting them on moderated status, emails private threats, posts them saying they insulted him when they did not, (yeah, that is called LYING).

I keep thinking at some point this kid is going to grow up and get a clue, or at least the Gods will give him a clue by four, but nope, not yet.

**shaking head** it's really discouraging to realize that people like this not only think they are right, but that they have the right to teach our children behind our backs.

Interesting series of articles

I found an interesting series of articles on Witches Voice.

I like how the author puts it, they don't make assumptions or strict conclusions, but instead offer a variety of informations so the reader can go look for themselves and make an informed decision.

http://www.witchvox.com/va/list_articles.html?a=usmi&id=316220

That is the list of articles entitled:
"Another Pagan History -- What's Really Old, and What Likely Ain't"

It's in nine parts, the ninth installment is summed up nicely with this:
"Footnotes:
Please read the books mentioned above. Check out Murray, then read her critics and detractors, then read Jani Farrell-Roberts's rebuttal. Check out some of the archeologists who swear that prehistoric artwork does NOT represent a Goddess. Then check out some of the scholars who swear that the artwork DOES represent the Goddess. Pick up a book by Dr. Gimbutas. Read Dr. Hutton's arguments against her theories. Read Max Dashu's arguments against Hutton's arguments against Gimbutas (tricky, huh?) Or if that bores you, go look at pictures of some matrikas. Try Googling "prehistoric" + "Venus figure" and "Goddess" + "Virgin Mary". That'll keep everyone busy for a while!"

I'd strongely suggest to anyone even remotely interested in the history of Wicca, Goddess worship, paganism, and witchcraft to read through the articles.

So here we go again

I can only hope that the teen girl standing up to him in his yahoo group does not find his blog post about her and their debate.

I've been asked why I keep a commentary on ERF, well, I think his latest blog speaks for itself. A teenager disagrees with him, gives legitimate concrete reasoning for why she thinks the way she does. Instead of entering into a discourse, he slams her on his blog. It's obvious who the mature person here is, and it ain't ERF.

So much for thinking he might just maybe be growing up, huh?

By all means, critically review what he's written here:

http://theravensway.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

However, he's blocked comments, he's not really interested in what anyone has to say, so you'll have to backtrack here to make any comments or reviews of his blog.

But that is what I am here for.

You are a Scholar. You could be Wiccan or Pagan, Reconstructionist or Gnostic, Jew or Muslim. But whatever your path, it's pretty clear you're by no means a Fluffy Bunny. Stop taking silly quizzes and go out there and educate people, would ya??

So sapphoq thinks I'm part of the problem

Apparently you misunderstood what I am pissed and worried about.

So let me be perfectly clear.

As a teacher, I don't think he can do much damage. Anything they learn that is incorrect, eventually, on their own, they'll unlearn, or not care. Fine.

No, my problem with him specifically is that he believes it is okay for him to teach teens without parental consent or notification. In fact, he even preaches SRW's line, that it is okay for teens to lie to their parents about practicing Wicca or witchcraft.

Nope, never gonna happen. If you let kids think it is okay to keep one secret, or okay to lie about one thing, (and FYI in my opinion, lying about your choice of religion is HUGE) then they will justify and rationalize lying about other things, about keeping other secrets.

You're opening a very very dangerous door.

So, think I'm part of the problem. I frankly don't give a flying fuck all what you think. Because, after you posted your little nasty flounce and bounce in his coven group, I lost all respect for you and YOUR way of doing things.

Don't play self righteous holier then thou with me. You hide behind a fake name, you pretended to be a little teeny bopper. Then you posted a bunch of crap and ran away.

Hell, in fact, your blog is under an online name. So who in the hell are you to question me? Pass judgement on me?

I've made it perfectly clear, don't like ERF, don't trust ERF, and believe he is a danger to himself, and the community.

As long as he posts his little hate speeches, then I can post a commentary of it.

If you don't like, don't read it.

Monday, January 15, 2007

What a freaking dumbass

Yes, ERF I am talking about you.

Anyone reads your stupid blogs they have to see that first of all you have half dozen posts ranting about the hateful Christians and GW.

Oh, but now, your posting that we should stop the hate?

http://theravensway.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

No wonder you love SRW so much, I used to think she was just lazy, that is why she contradicted herself so often. But now I know, you're both stupid.

ERF thinks he has the RIGHT to teach Teens without parental permission

So, raving dumbass, has posted this:
"Do We have the right to be witches?" About how we are supposed to teach teens without their parents knowledge and consent.
http://theravensway.blogspot.com/2007/01/do-we-have-right-to-be-witches.html

I'm here to tell you, if he came within five feet of my teen, I'd throw his sorry stupid ass in jail, forever.

So, for those that haven't yet see it, here is Bonewits Cult Danger evaluation:

Spew Warning

Don't read if you're drinking anything.

EJ aka Elder Joan has started her own blog. It's priceless...

http://purlzofwizdumb.blogspot.com/

Friday, January 12, 2007

AAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH

What part of I FUCKING HATE STUPID ASS CHAIN LETTER FORWARDS DID YOU NOT UNDERSTAND THE FIRST 100 FUCKING TIMES I SENT THEM BACK ASKING YOU TO NEVER DO IT AGAIN?!?!?!?!!?!!?

Yeah, stoopid people.

ERF aka EDB You can run, but you can't hide

Well, it looks like it got a little too hot in the kitchen for ERF...

He transferred his ravings to yet two more blogs. He really is stupid, like I can't find him?

http://theravensway.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html

It gets even better

http://theravensway.blogspot.com/2007/01/sexism-in-craft.html

He has decided that what has been written about Aradia is WRONG, but he knows better, so he fixed it.

You'll notice that when anyone tells him he has something wrong he goes into a complete rage, yet when he does it, it is okay, it is just someone being sexist or dumb, or just plain wrong.

This kid, and he is a kid, well, actually now that I think about we can't be sure. In one blog he says he is 21 and in another he says 22 and in another he says 29. I wonder maybe he has MPD, that would explain the paranoid delusions. Nah, he's just a lying idiot.

ERF aka EDB Runs away with his tail between his legs

Well it looks like ERF, aka EDB (energizer dummy bunny for those that don't know), has run away like a whining dog with his tail between his legs.

For those arriving late to my snarky look at this so-called 22 year old "Elder" of the craft, (crafting what? bad spelling, poor grammer? doubt it, more like a bad case of delusional paranoia), sorry, I digress, he left this really dinky comment on one of my blogs:

"Elder RavenFire said...

Wow, and you think I'm a nut case?? I think if you have nothing better to do, then follow me around, you got way to much time on your hands. And sending my thoughts about bush to HS, is wow!! I've already sent these thoughts to my congressmen, my Governor, and to bushes staff. I am very active in politics. So I think you, and others who act, and think like you, are the ones with the issues. But thanks for making me very famous over the net. LOL!!!

January 11, 2007 5:47 PM "

Now this was regarding the rather scathing commentary I made regarding his idiocy and his mind numbingly moronic blogs, found here:
http://eldersthoughts.blogspot.com/2007/01/what-led-to-burning-times.html
http://aradicpath.blogspot.com/

Well actually, that is the point, they're not there any more. He's deleted them. Now this isn't the first time, in fact, not too long ago, he had another blog, and of course, I'd commented handily, along with quite a few others who apparently dislike him as much as I do.

So, so much for not caring. Okay, will save my absolute distaste for wussy men for another blog...but I am here to tell you, this guy, seriously people, he is a big fat pussy.

How might your life be different?

How might your life have been different,
if through the years,
there had been a place where you could go?....
a place of women who knew the cycles of life,
the ebb and flow of nature,
who knew of times of work and times of quiet.......
who understood your tiredness and need for rest.

A place of women who could help you to accept your fatigue
and trust your limitations,
and to know,
in the dark of winter,
that your energy would return,
as surely as the spring.

Women who could help you light a candle and to wait.....

How might your life be different?

{I need to find the book this particular poem comes from, it is NOT mine. It is an excellant book for/on/about women's journeys. I found this poem when I was working on ideas surrounding Women's mysteries. Hope you enjoyed. When I find the actual book, I will post the title and author's name}

Ya Ya Sisterhood

I wish I knew who wrote this, I've seen it once or twice on different websites, and it always makes me laugh. So, enjoy, and if you happen to know who the author is, please let me know so I can make sure the whole world knows just how amazing they are.

Joys of Womanhood
Brilliant Woman Author Unknown

Women over 50 don't have babies because they would put them down and forget where they left them.

One of life's mysteries is how a 2 pound box of candy can make a woman gain 5 lbs.

My mind not only wanders, it sometime leaves completely.

The best way to forget all your troubles is to wear tight shoes.

The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you're doing, someone else does.

The older you get, the tougher it is to lose weight because by then, your body and your fat are really good friends.

Just when I was getting used to yesterday, along came today.

Sometimes I think I understand everything, then I regain consciousness.

I gave up jogging for my health when my thighs kept rubbing together and setting my pantyhose on fire. Amazing!

You hang something in your closet for awhile and it shrinks two sizes!

Skinny people irritate me! Especially when they say things like, "You know, sometimes I just forget to eat. "Now I've forgotten my address, my mother's maiden name, and my keys. But I've never forgotten to eat. You have to be a special kind of stupid to forget to eat.

A friend of mine confused her valium with her birth control pills. She had 14 kids, but she doesn't really care.

The trouble with some women is that they get all excited about nothing and then they marry him.

I read this article that said the typical symptoms of stress are: eating too much, impulse buying, and driving too fast. Are they kidding? That is my idea of a perfect day.

I know what Victoria's Secret is. The secret is that nobody older than 30 can fit into their stuff.

Lawn Chair Larry

Because I can:

:

(1982, California) Larry Walters of Los Angeles is one of the few to contend for the Darwin Awards and live to tell the tale. "I have fulfilled my 20-year dream," said Walters, a former truck driver for a company that makes TV commercials. "I'm staying on the ground. I've proved the thing works."

Larry's boyhood dream was to fly. But fates conspired to keep him from his dream. He joined the Air Force, but his poor eyesight disqualified him from the job of pilot. After he was discharged from the military, he sat in his backyard watching jets fly overhead.

He hatched his weather balloon scheme while sitting outside in his "extremely comfortable" Sears lawnchair. He purchased 45 weather balloons from an Army-Navy surplus store, tied them to his tethered lawnchair dubbed the Inspiration I, and filled the 4' diameter balloons with helium. Then he strapped himself into his lawnchair with some sandwiches, Miller Lite, and a pellet gun. He figured he would pop a few of the many balloons when it was time to descend.

Larry's plan was to sever the anchor and lazily float up to a height of about 30 feet above his back yard, where he would enjoy a few hours of flight before coming back down. But things didn't work out quite as Larry planned.

When his friends cut the cord anchoring the lawnchair to his Jeep, he did not float lazily up to 30 feet. Instead, he streaked into the LA sky as if shot from a cannon, pulled by the lift of 42 helium balloons holding 33 cubic feet of helium each. He didn't level off at 100 feet, nor did he level off at 1000 feet. After climbing and climbing, he leveled off at 16,000 feet.

At that height he felt he couldn't risk shooting any of the balloons, lest he unbalance the load and really find himself in trouble. So he stayed there, drifting cold and frightened with his beer and sandwiches, for more than 14 hours. He crossed the primary approach corridor of LAX, where Trans World Airlines and Delta Airlines pilots radioed in reports of the strange sight.

{Okay, I edited it, it was way too long. You can read the rest here:
